I consider the world around me and the literature I love, I find poetic patterns of creation, struggle, death, and rebirth. These legends and experiences weave together into the worlds I create in my mind, and in my artistic practice, I tell their stories with the help of my favorite characters and plots.
I am constantly reflecting on relationships between man and nature, our influence on each other, the intertwining of history, folklore, origin, and universal narratives through the characters I paint, reviving legendary ones from myths across cultures, and endowing new ones with my own symbolism. I immerse them in realms of my secrets, fears, magic, and dreams. Mythology is where I seek refuge from our far from ideal world.
